About Sessions

What to expect

It's normal to feel a bit uncomfortable and apprehensive when you take that first step and come to therapy, so this is to give you a bit more information of what to expect.

An overview

The first session is a chance to talk, and be listened to and to experience a space that is free from distractions. We will get to know each other and form a better understanding of what you are hoping to gain from therapy.

 

It is also important that you feel comfortable and the first session is a good opportunity to reflect on how you feel in the therapy space and whether you like working with me.

We will go through the contract together and sign this before we start any counselling work.

​

Information about you and what we talk about is confidential, I will not disclose anything unless I feel you or anyone else's safety is at risk. 

​

Each session is 50 minutes 

​

Payment can be made by bank transfer before your session or by bringing cash/ card when we meet in person.

​

There is parking and a toilet available for client use.

20 min 'getting to know you' call

I offer a free telephone consultation which usually takes around 20 minutes. This is to find out more about each other. I can get a sense of what you want to work on in counselling and we can make a plan from there on what the next steps look like.

Individual counselling

These are 50 minutes long and we would usually agree to meet weekly, however I do offer flexibility here if needed. Your counselling can be short-term or long-term depending on what you would like.
